Theta Network(THETA)

Overview

Theta Network is a blockchain project positioned as a decentralized cloud for AI, media and entertainment. It is structured as a "dual network" made up of two complementary subsystems: the Theta Edge Network and the Theta Blockchain. The edge network supplies GPU compute power for AI, video, rendering and similar workloads, while the blockchain layer handles payments, rewards and smart contract functionality.

The Theta Edge Network consists of more than 10,000 active nodes worldwide and is designed to make distributed GPU compute capacity continuously available. It underpins Theta EdgeCloud, a hybrid cloud-edge AI computing platform launched on May 1, 2024. The project holds a patent covering an "Edge Computing Platform supported by Smart Contract Enabled Blockchain Network," and its design allows community participants to run edge nodes and share in rewards from AI, video, 3D rendering and gaming compute jobs.
