Sonic(S)

Overview

Sonic (S) is an EVM-compatible layer-1 blockchain designed to support decentralized finance (DeFi) applications. The project states that the chain offers up to 400,000 TPS and sub-second finality, with S serving as the native token used for transaction fees and network participation.

One of Sonic's distinguishing features is its Fee Monetization (FeeM) program, which allocates up to 90% of the fees generated by an application back to its developers. Sonic also operates the Sonic Gateway, a native bridge to Ethereum that the project describes as including a fail-safe mechanism intended to protect bridged assets.
