Overview
Pendle is a decentralized finance protocol that enables the tokenization and trading of future yield. It splits yield-bearing assets into principal tokens (PT) and yield tokens (YT), allowing users to buy and sell the principal and the future yield component separately.
The protocol uses a purpose-built automated market maker designed to handle assets with fixed maturities that experience time decay. The PENDLE token is used for governance and protocol incentives, including a vote-escrow model in which tokens are locked to obtain vePENDLE voting power.
