Overview

peaq (PEAQ) is a blockchain-based coordination layer designed to let machines — including robots, vehicles, devices, sensors, and AI agents — operate as autonomous economic actors. It aims to provide verifiable identities, wallets, portable reputation, tokenization, and cross-chain settlement guarantees.

The architecture is organized into three layers. The Machine Layer (peaqOS) onboards machines as composable economic actors, the Trust Layer handles coordination, validation, and reputation scores backed by staked capital, and the Service Layer connects machines to external service markets via a permissionless adapter framework. peaq describes itself as chain-neutral, so a machine onboarded through it can be discovered and transacted with across supported chains.
