Monad(MON)

Overview

Monad (MON) is a high-performance Layer 1 blockchain designed to process around 10,000 transactions per second with very low fees. Unlike traditional blockchains that process transactions one at a time, Monad uses parallel execution to handle multiple transactions simultaneously. It also separates consensus from execution, allowing validators to first agree on which transactions to include and in what order, then execute them with more available time.

Monad pairs this design with a purpose-built database called MonadDB, which the project says increases throughput while maintaining accuracy. The network offers full EVM compatibility, so applications built for Ethereum can run without code changes and users can connect with familiar wallets such as MetaMask. Monad is also designed to run on consumer-grade hardware rather than specialized equipment, lowering the barrier to operating a node.
