Overview
LayerZero is an interoperability (omnichain) protocol that allows messages to be passed between different blockchains. Through endpoint contracts deployed on each chain and separate components responsible for verification and execution, it is designed to carry not only token transfers but also arbitrary data messages.
ZRO is the native token of the LayerZero ecosystem, used for governance participation and purposes related to protocol fees. Distribution began with an airdrop in June 2024, and the total supply is set at 1 billion tokens.
