JPY Coin(JPYC)

Overview

JPY Coin (JPYC) is a stablecoin designed to maintain a 1:1 peg to the Japanese yen, issued by the Japanese company JPYC Inc. It has been issued as an ERC-20 compatible token across multiple public blockchains, including Ethereum, Polygon and Avalanche.

It was originally issued as a prepaid payment instrument under Japan's Payment Services Act, and following the 2023 amendments that established a framework for electronic payment instruments, it was issued in 2025 under a funds transfer business registration as a redeemable stablecoin backed by yen deposits and Japanese government bonds. Common uses include yen-denominated on-chain payments, remittances, DeFi collateral and corporate settlement.
