Flow(FLOW)

Overview

Flow is a layer-one blockchain designed for consumer applications and the digital assets that power them, originally developed by the team at Dapper Labs. It runs on a proof-of-stake consensus mechanism and uses a multi-role architecture that splits validation work across collection, consensus, execution, and verification nodes in an effort to balance scalability, efficiency, and cost. Large consumer NFT platforms such as NBA Top Shot and NFL All Day have operated on the network.

FLOW, the network's native token, is used to pay transaction fees, stake and delegate to validators, participate in governance, and interact with smart contracts. Its development stack includes Cadence, a smart contract language built for consumer-grade applications, alongside EVM equivalence that allows Ethereum contracts and tooling to run on Flow. The protocol also provides account abstraction at the protocol level, mobile onboarding support, and cross-chain interoperability with the broader web3 ecosystem.
