Derive(DRV)

Overview

Derive (DRV) is a decentralized protocol for creating programmable onchain options, perpetuals, and structured products. It runs on Derive Chain, an Ethereum rollup built with the OP Stack, which serves as the home of the Derive Protocol and is described as a permissionless smart contract platform.

The Derive DAO collects trading fees from the Derive Protocol and gas fees from Derive Chain, with decisions governed by DRV token holders. Trading fees accrue to an insurance fund intended to strengthen the robustness of both the protocol and the rollup. Derive has also built Derive Pro, an AI-powered trading app developed in collaboration with Messari that uses smart contract wallets for one-click, gasless transactions and is designed to support spot, perps, and options trading as well as connections to spot AMMs on L2s such as Optimism, Arbitrum, and Base.
